A: Generally, a $2,000 monthly startup ad budget allows us to gain enough data to make optimizations within the first month.
A budget that is too low doesn’t offer enough data to see what’s working and what’s not.
On the other hand, exorbitant ad spend puts you at risk of overspending in areas that don’t provide good results.
Our solution?
We test every Google advertising channel (such as search, display, GSP, and Shopping) to see how each performs and influences other campaigns within the account.
Then, we reallocate ad spend to the higher-performing campaigns.
A: This largely depends on ad spend. Here’s what we mean:
A very high spending account may need daily or even hourly changes. For accounts with smaller budgets, there may not be as much maintenance involved.
Similarly, this depends on if we’re achieving our goals or not. If we are, we may make slower optimizations (to not deter the performance of the campaign). If we aren’t hitting our goals, we make more frequent optimizations until we start achieving them.
On average, we generally make changes in an account every 3-7 days (again, depending on how much activity the campaign gets and your specific goals).
Too many changes harbors an ecosystem where it’s hard to keep track of the outcomes; making changes too infrequently means competitors may outperform your campaign.
A: You will receive a full report each month on your campaigns’ performance.
This report is not proprietary and is easily reconcilable within your Google Ads account (which you retain full ownership of).
After you receive the report, we offer a meeting to review all activities in your campaigns, what happened over the last month, what is happening now, and what our plans are for future growth.
A: Technically, you’ll start to see results right away; however, it takes about 90 days for a campaign to “normalize” to the point of understanding how it will perform long-term.
In other words, we pour a whole lot of strategy into building your campaign — but the magic really happens after a few weeks of data analysis and optimization.
It’s like tending a garden:
We make sure the conditions are optimal when we plant the seeds, but it takes lots of nurturing — weeding, watering, pruning — to produce the fruit.

A: Using tools such as Google Keyword Planner, iSpionage, SpyFu, and SEMrush, we craft a keyword strategy.
Next, we:
1. Add the total monthly impressions of those keywords
2. Divide that number by a standard 2% click-through rate
3. Multiply that by the keywords’ average cost-per-click.
Finally, we produce results based on a 3%, 5%, and 10% conversion rate.
This will give you a total amount of monthly leads/sales and cost-per-lead/sale.
A: Nearly all of our costs are based on how much we spend (this includes click fraud prevention, vendors, and software and monitoring tools, such as Google Keyword Planner, iSpionage, SpyFu, and SEMrush).
So, we simply cannot scale profitably without a benchmark set against spend.
More to the point:
The larger a campaign gets, the larger the workload to manage.
As data-driven marketers, everything we do is based on data-driven optimization. Every dollar spent is a data point and every data point requires action.
The more you spend, the more work involved in managing and optimizing the campaign.
The benefit to both of us is you’ll never choose to spend more without a high-performing campaign. So, the system ends up being meritocratic in construct.
And, because we charge a base, plus a small percentage (unlike many high-end agencies that simply charge a much larger percentage across the board), our campaigns become more profitable as a percentage as you grow.
As far as the agencies that don’t charge a percentage fee… They’re actually showing their hand in doing so. They’ve completely limited their ability to service the campaign.
In fact, we would bet every single one of them is using automated bidding tools to attempt to manage your campaign through the use of “AI” — without the expenditure in human capital.
